Now the second thing to know before hiring a lawyer is his experience.

Experience of the lawyer, not the experience he is telling you but instead his record handling cases like yours, many individuals would say “my lawyer is good” when asked how do you know? They answer my friend told me, be careful with that, he may handle a matter for your friend totally different than your case calls for it or he may have not even provided any service to your friend at all but instead a referral fee for recommending clients to him.

Some lawyers are board certified in the area of law you are seeking help on, however that doesn’t mean they are better than non-board certified just that they have more credentials to show.

You should inquire of public reviews about the lawyer you are hiring, have an open mind reviews are not always true and is very common for people to get into a conflict with lawyers for many reasons such as the one we mentioned before they can’t afford the lawyer and the lawyer refuse further legal representation or they believe the lawyer didn’t represent them good enough then, such disputes may generate bad reviews for the lawyer online.

Be extreme cautious in judging your lawyer or your judge, the legal system and legal procedures are very complicated even for those who have been practicing law for many years and if you think you know better you should try this first read your local rules of your court then your state rules of civil or criminal procedures then your State & Federal Statutes and see how all this is applied in everyday court cases similar to yours, finally you should watch at least 100 videos of your appellate court hearings.

After you perform all this task mentioned above ask another lawyer if your understanding of the laws and rules now are correct, you will be surprised to learn that you have a change of mind and that the average individuals have no idea how to properly represent themselves, so trust your lawyer no relationship survives without trust.
